If there are no locations listed for an item, it may be that it is a new item the library has ordered. You may place a hold on it.
The Status that you see when you look up an item in the catalog is the physical location:
CLMS RETD – A customer claims to have returned the item but the library has not checked it in.
MISSING – The item cannot be found.
ON HOLDSHELF – The item is on hold and waiting for a customer to pick it up.
CHECKED OUT – The item is checked out to a customer.
ON SHELF – The item is on the shelf at the library.
IN TRANSIT – The items is traveling between libraries.
BILLED – The item was not returned and a customer has been billed for it.
LOST AND PAID – The item was not returned and a customer has paid for losing it.
ON SEARCH – The item cannot be found and the library is looking for it.
LIB USE ONLY – The item cannot be checked out or requested. You must use it in the library. Usually a reference item.
MENDING – The item has been damaged and is in the process of being repaired.
DAMAGED – The item has been damaged and someone is checking to see if it can be fixed.
IN STORAGE – The item is not used very often and has been sent to storage. It can still be requested.
IN PROCESSING – The item has been ordered and is in the process of being prepared for use.
